The Whole Child Named a 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year

The Whole Child is proud to announce that it has been selected as a 2026 California Nonprofit of the Year for Assembly District 64 by Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco.

The recognition honors nonprofit organizations that demonstrate exceptional service, leadership, and impact within their communities. The Whole Child was recognized for its commitment to strengthening children and families through comprehensive programs focused on mental health, housing stability, family support, nutrition, and community well-being.

Representatives from The Whole Child traveled to Sacramento in May to be recognized alongside nonprofit organizations from across California during a special celebration at the State Capitol.

“This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, board members, community partners, volunteers, and supporters who work tirelessly to help children and families thrive,” said Constanza Pachon, Chief Executive Officer of The Whole Child. “We are honored to receive this distinction and share it with the entire community that makes our mission possible.”

For nearly 70 years, The Whole Child has provided life-changing services that address the social, emotional, and practical needs of families throughout Los Angeles County. Today, the organization serves thousands of children and families each year through programs that help prevent homelessness, improve access to mental health care, strengthen parenting skills, promote healthy lifestyles, and create pathways to long-term stability.

The recognition also highlights the importance of community partnerships and collaboration. Through the support of donors, volunteers, elected officials, foundations, and community organizations, The Whole Child continues to expand its reach and respond to the evolving needs of local families.

Receiving the California Nonprofit of the Year designation is not only a celebration of the organization’s accomplishments, but also a reminder of the work that remains ahead. As families continue to face challenges related to housing, economic stability, and access to care, The Whole Child remains committed to ensuring every child and family has the opportunity to thrive.

The Whole Child extends its sincere gratitude to Assemblymember Blanca Pacheco for this recognition and to everyone who has contributed to the organization’s mission over the years.
