As we celebrate Pride Month, The Whole Child is proud to recognize the Greater Whittier LGBTQ+ Community Center, a valued community partner dedicated to creating a safe, affirming, and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and families.
Through our partnership, we work together to connect families experiencing housing instability with critical resources and services that help them achieve long-term stability and wellbeing. By combining our strengths, we are able to expand access to support and create meaningful pathways to housing, health, and opportunity.
The impact of this collaboration is reflected in the experiences of the families we serve. Lisa Mata-Uribe, Care Coordinator at the Greater Whittier LGBTQ+ Community Center, shared:
“Our partnership with The Whole Child has been incredibly meaningful in supporting the families we serve. Through this collaboration, I referred four displaced families, and I’m grateful to share that they were placed in less than nine months. Having a trusted partner so deeply committed to LGBTQ+ youth and families has made a real difference in our community. We truly appreciate The Whole Child’s responsiveness, compassion, and shared dedication to helping families find stability and thrive.”
We believe strong community partnerships are essential to helping children and families succeed. We are grateful for the Greater Whittier LGBTQ+ Community Center’s partnership and shared commitment to ensuring every family has the opportunity to feel supported, valued, and empowered.
