Our Impact

We address behavioral challenges and trauma in children by helping them develop coping skills and heal from distress.

Melissa was a client of The Whole Child when she was a kid and teen growing up in Whittier. Now she sees her own child, Ruben, benefitting from the same kind of support that she received from The Whole Child back then.

“I was having some issues in elementary school and my mom found The Whole Child. I’m 27 years old and it’s still really good for me. Now my son is in therapy and he’s blossomed. The Whole Child is just amazing.”.

Stephanie and her son Damian are among the very first Family Housing clients who have benefitted from stable, secure living units at The Whole Child’s new, award-winning Safe Families center in Santa Fe Springs. Thanks to the ability to stabilize and get on track, Stephanie has now accepted a position teaching culinary arts and will be moving into permanent housing with her son.

“My ‘why’ is my son. We deserve a chance at happiness, a chance at peace. The Whole Child has given us a chance at life, at happiness. With all the resources that are being provided here at Safe Families, I couldn’t be more grateful. So thank you!”

We help families experiencing or on the brink of homelessness on their journey to permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

We help caregivers establish a strong attachment with their children, prenatal to 5 years, to avoid abuse and neglect.

“We joined The Whole Child when our son was six months old and it has been such a wonderful experience. Kassius enjoys each time that our home educator visits. She brings excellent educational materials and developmental activities, and I truly feel like The Whole Child has helped to shape my son into how awesome he is today.”
