Congresswoman Linda Sánchez Visits The Whole Child’s Safe Families Shelter

The Whole Child was honored to welcome Congresswoman Linda Sánchez to our Safe Families Shelter for a tour of the facility and an opportunity

to learn more about how our organization supports children and families experiencing housing instability.

During her visit, Congresswoman Sánchez met with members of our team, toured the shelter, and gained a firsthand look at the services provided to families as they work toward long-term stability. The visit highlighted the importance of ensuring families have access not only to safe housing, but also to the wraparound supports that help them thrive.

The Whole Child is grateful for Congresswoman Sánchez’s continued partnership and commitment to strengthening resources for children and families throughout our community. Her advocacy has played an important role in expanding access to critical services, including securing $500,000 in federal funding to support The Whole Child’s Safe Families Shelter. This investment helped make the development of the shelter possible, creating a safe, welcoming space where children and families experiencing housing instability can access the support they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

“We are grateful for Congresswoman Linda Sánchez’s continued support of our mission and for taking the time to visit our Safe Families shelter,” said Constanza Pachon, Chief Executive Officer of The Whole Child. “Her advocacy in securing federal funding for this facility has helped create a safe, welcoming space where children and families experiencing housing instability can access the support they need to begin rebuilding their lives.”

The Whole Child extends its sincere appreciation to Congresswoman Sánchez for her leadership, partnership, and dedication to improving outcomes for children and families across Los Angeles County. We look forward to continuing to work together to create stronger, healthier communities where every child and family has the opportunity to thrive.
