Community Partners Help TWC Families Start the School Year Ready to Succeed

As a new school year begins, The Whole Child is grateful for the incredible community partners who have come together to support local children and families through generous donations of backpacks and school supplies.

For many families, preparing for a new school year can bring added expenses and stress. Access to something as simple as a new backpack filled with supplies can help a child walk into the classroom feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

This back-to-school season, several organizations throughout our community have stepped forward to make that possible:

  • Baby2Baby donated 72 backpacks filled with school supplies for children and families served by The Whole Child.
  • Baby2Baby’s Student2Student program provided an additional 25 backpacks with school supplies.
  • Rose Hills Park & Mortuaries generously donated 100 brand-new backpacks, personally delivering them to our Safe Families Shelter.
  • Solidarity Bears hosted a backpack drive benefiting the Downey community and TWC families, bringing additional resources directly to local families.
  • We Are LASD Wives is also supporting TWC families through an upcoming backpack donation following their community backpack drive.
  • La Mirada Heights Senior Living has joined the back-to-school effort, bringing another generation of community members together in support of local children and families.

These donations represent far more than backpacks and school supplies. They represent a community that believes children deserve to begin the school year with the tools they need and families deserve to know they are not navigating these moments alone.

The Whole Child extends our heartfelt gratitude to each organization, donor, volunteer, and community member who has contributed to these efforts. Your generosity helps ease the burden on families while reminding them that their community is behind them.

Thank you for helping the children and families we serve step into a new school year feeling supported, prepared, and hopeful for what lies ahead.
